Welcome and listen
Receive women warmly and listen carefully and confidentially. Often the first thing someone needs is to be heard without judgment.
Help explain rights, simply
Under the guidance of our jurists, help put the law into everyday language so a woman can understand what her rights actually are.
Point to the right next step
Help people find what they need next — a jurist, mediation, another service — and refer onward when a situation is beyond what we can offer.
Support careful records
Help keep simple, anonymized records of consultations so the team can follow up well and learn how to serve women better.
Patience, discretion, a steady heart.
Law students and jurists are especially welcome — but so is anyone with patience and discretion. A genuine ability to listen without judgment and keep confidences. French plus a national language such as Lingala is helpful, so you can speak with women in the language they actually use. Willingness to sign our safeguarding commitment and work within it.

You always work under the supervision of our women jurists — there to guide, answer, and step in when a case needs them.

As a volunteer you help explain rights and point people toward the right next step — you do not give a legal opinion or act as anyone's lawyer in court. Everything happens under the supervision of our women jurists. Our legal-education clinics are a Pilot, running in a limited way and still growing, so the role grows with us.
